Image for the poem Departure

Departure

He fears that his mind is lost
Sanity a fragile thing
He gets it together at some cost
But still can hear his demons sing

All the treatments in the world
Have failed to quell his frequent lows
His reason has at last unfurled
Where the Stygian River curls and flows

He finds comfort in release
An entity in time and space
No more dread and finally peace
In departure from the human race.
