RAVENS : AN ALLEGORY

Ravens, whispering
Cold with the curse inside my own skin
I can hear their song
Slave to the flesh and the devil’s grin

What is this thing in the mirror?
They’re cawing to get out

I swallow my pills but the grave draws closer
Talons at my throat, die without closure
Spirits in the fog, intoxicating
I can’t hear my cries for all the screaming

I can’t keep it inside
The tragedy of rhyme

Ravens, whispering
Cold with the curse inside my own skin
I can hear their song
Slave to the flesh and the devil’s grin
Blame myself once again
Their curse on the thunder

R A V E N S

What’s this savior in the needle
Can it purify me?

I’m shallow and poisoned, condemned by I
Killing myself slowly and surely denied
The easy way out but immortalized
In your eager eyes that believe my lies

I can’t keep it inside
The tragedy of rhyme

Ravens, whispering
Cold with the curse inside my own skin
I can hear their song
Slave to the flesh and the devil’s grin
Blame myself once again
Their curse on the thunder

R A V E N S

It seems I’ll live forever
Shattered but unbroken
Pushing the weight of the world
As the ravens peck away

I
CAN’T
KEEP
FROM
FALLING

Ravens, whispering
Cold with the curse inside my own skin
I can hear their song
Slave to the flesh and the devil’s grin
Blame myself once again
Their curse on the thunder

R A V E N S

R  A  V  E  N  S

I can’t keep it inside
The tragedy of rhyme
I CAN’T KEEP IT INSIDE
THE TRAGEDY OF RHYME
i can’t keep it inside
the tragedy of rhyme
