rattle the bones
in the between times
when the spirits are quiet
I am free to be myself
without my bones being rattled
I can ponder my human condition
blocking out what they tell me
with stirrings of my true immortal nature
it is frightening being so different
connecting more with the cosmos
than with people
even now I can hear their whispers
I seek to lock them hear inside this poem
so I can sleep well
on and on I'm driven to write
occasionly my own thoughts
more often the divine
sigh the voice of the Goddess and fate
she presses in on me
I ink out her visions
no matter how much they scare me
i'm apathetic today
I don't want to hear
I don't want to see
no I won't give up my gift
in exchange for silence
rattle my bones i'm listening
