a canvas

it's caressing;
lip kissing
brush-strokes
across torsos
like intimate
stretches of novue;
lightly feathering
thermic strokes
in drawn lines
directing
the sound-track
warming
voices
in winter's
sauntering
per-sis-tence
tangled limbs
painting
pastels
of lust
seeping depths
of voicelessness;
the easel stance
steadfast
between
open-legs
holding
postured
elegance
landscaped galleries
flowing
lustful
rivers of
acrylic
dreams
floating
over oils
in moments of
heated-decadence
eyes meet
skin tangles
hair falls
in worldly
indifference
the body
owned
-breath
served;
painting, sculpting, erupting
sensual
eloquence

Hello.
The language of the first two stanzas are actually rather lovely. They are trademark you, so I find it hard to alter them really.
Couple of spelling boo-boos on canvass and accross (canvas and across). That’ll be that bloody African dictionary.
At some point we’ll have to have a conversation about formatting. I love how the format echoes the scratchiness of the sketch in the picture. I mean that third stanza is just laid out so beautifully and really feels like a brush stroke. I’ve tried to format poems like this in the past and for whatever reason I just can’t do it. The key note here is “please teach me your formatting ways oh wise one” 😂
I question the use of the random hyphen those four times towards the end. I can’t help but think they interrupt the visual appearance of the piece. This piece is unusual because it’s so visually beautiful which needs consideration as well as the content. I find myself asking “what do they bring to the poem” ... and I’m coming up blank. Bit of digital fluff there methinks.
Language - b-e-a-utiful.
Format - really works, with a few minor tweaks.
Content - a lovely dedication to the lady.
