Thunder Moon

Suddenly day
turns night
sun, a fiery ball
in hovering clouds

She pours herself
enough deep red
to stain lips

Candles lit sporadically
throughout rooms
glittering warm light

She sits beside
her open windows
taking in balmy breezes

Rain falls in tumultuous waves
lightning zig zags
across steely skies

Rolling, crashing,
thunder Moon, hidden
so powerfully present
