That’s the dilemma I struggle with the most.
You know all my vulnerabilities,
Because I’ve entrusted you with those.
How do I know you’re not playing me?
Tryna run some type of game?
I know that I have genuine feelings for you,
How do I know that you feel the same?
What if I was broke or penny less?
Would you still be there for me?
Or what if you found out I was sick?
Would that make you feel differently?
I’ve told you about my past,
I don’t have anything to hide,
but how do I know you’re not setting me up,
because in you I chose to confide?
I’ve been in relationships before,
with women who all said the right things,
but when it came down to it,
all they were after was wedding rings!
Are you another selfish girl,
looking for a man to save her life?
Or are you a beautiful strong woman,
who values herself more than a trophy wife?
Do you have your own ambitions,
That I can help you to realize?
Or is your sole purpose in life,
to find a man in whom you can rely?
There’s nothing wrong with having a relationship with a man that you can fully trust.
But is that the extent of your self worth?
Is that all you see in us?
