Image for the poem All Due Grace

All Due Grace

She still moves in feline ways
Down my hall in deep twilight
She considers me, and stays
Her touch felt for one more night

She favors a simple stroke
Her fingers deft, steady and sure
Digits tightening to a choke
Until I see her vast allure

I come in streams, but not explode
Traces sparkling on her face
I can feel my heart implode
As she accepts my load with all due grace.
