Maria's Life Map
Rearranged
her few points of reference
on a statistical line...
Extended pauses,
silent poses,
three marble gestures
and
a lone, imperceptible word
at the border of a grey void,
dominated in the new order.
(For clarity reasons
she left out the math symbol that, always, eluded
empiricist math minds)

I don't know who she is, but she sounds fascinating..or rather, the way you write about her makes her a fascinating woman, a gift of a writer certainly on how you present your subjects.

Dear Layla, I'm not sure, I know, either. Probably, I'm at the stage that I'm allowing the character to build herself. However, here are some hints that I think I understand, even if they need more elaboration. 1. Some understanding may be gained by considering the body of work I have posted in DUP, so far. 2. Grushenka, a female character in Dostoevsky's Brothers Karamazov. 3. i was brought up by five women; my mother and four sisters (much older than me). 4. Promised, sometime ago, a poet friend I would write a cycle of poems with the title "A Woman Called Maria"

Re. Maria's Life Map
your titles are a poetic statement by itself...n the verses that follow are such in potent brevity..of ur intensely penned down each carefully counted words ..nothing more nothing less...
Maria..how beautifully soulful in ur minutely detailing 'adorement' poured out of ur infinite acumen that is beyond any statistics, goemetry, punctuations n all those 'dimensionally tangible rigours'...which you adeptly use n turn them to verses filled of ur invisibly infinite love n soul .. i yearn to feel the shaping of Maria n whatever all of ur beautiful heartmindsoul's articulations that's art n just art ..
adoring more n more frev dear precious one..write on xx:)

Maria, as a cycle of poems project, started out with definite political intentions (based on the premise that women's liberation - being the most universal of oppressed groups - could, with the right choices, have a liberating effect for the whole human race... In the process, she has gained more and more autonomy from my intentions.
I can't thank you enough, dear Uma, for your insightful and inspirational commentary.
