Light in my Eyes.
You say there’s a light in my eyes
As your face shows
The state of your strife
A Giving Tree with no more
To relinquish
Except for the gracious warmth
Of your Motherly kiss
With your reassuring love
There’s a light in my eyes
That despite this moonless night
Your star will shine bright
And with your consistent care
My roots will not wear
Through these drought-inducing skies
Your little seedling will rise
You renounced your star
To give birth to mine
A splendid supernova
That brought wonder
To my life
And light
To the night skies
With your reassuring love
There’s a light in my eyes
That despite this moonless night
Your star will shine bright
And with your consistent care
My roots will not wear
Through these drought-inducing skies
Your little seedling will rise
I wander through my mind
Desperately trying to reason
With the doubts in my life
That I could ever deserve
A comforting candle
To brighten my dreary lies
That I have contrived
You say to quiet my thoughts
So that this nurturing water
Can eliminate these trifling lies
With your reassuring love
There’s a light in my eyes
That despite this moonless night
Your star will shine bright
And with your consistent care
My roots will not wear
Through these drought-inducing skies
Your little seedling will rise
You say there’s a light in my eyes
But they only reflect the brilliance within their sight
As your face shows
The state of your strife
A Giving Tree with no more
To relinquish
Except for the gracious warmth
Of your Motherly kiss
With your reassuring love
There’s a light in my eyes
That despite this moonless night
Your star will shine bright
And with your consistent care
My roots will not wear
Through these drought-inducing skies
Your little seedling will rise
You renounced your star
To give birth to mine

That brought wonder

And light
To the night skies
With your reassuring love
There’s a light in my eyes
That despite this moonless night
Your star will shine bright
And with your consistent care
My roots will not wear
Through these drought-inducing skies
Your little seedling will rise
