You're the only One

that could come before Poetry;
its gestating cells multiplying
rapidly inside my fertile heart

So rich with conception;
bones calcifying stanzas
into skeletal verses

Healthy meaning burgeoning
muscle and sinew stretching
corpuscles expanding

Arterial function oxygenating
answers to timeless questions
sequestered within readers

There is resolve connecting
intimately with other human beings
just as joy in like-mindedness

One could live contentedly
in knowledge surpassing
all understanding

and Wisdom possessing
the depth of poem
birthed from a labor of Love

And, yet, fulfilling as it is
experiencing this great truth
. . .

You're the only One
that could ever come before it
