Drunken hungover waking in the afternoon[/font][/font]
tired old winter... tired old me... now 30... just turned 30...[/font][/font]
smoking fire to keep up some semblance of warmth[/font][/font]
multiple clothes... layers and layers of clothes...[/font][/font]
socks tights leggings skirt and trousers with[/font][/font]
t-shirts tops jumpers knit-dress scarf and hat on top...[/font][/font]
electric fan heater puffs out electric heat...[/font][/font]
broken window leaks cold air in...[/font][/font]
lungs extract plumes of hash...[/font][/font]
gotta get my brew from the post office -[/font][/font]
brew thats paid for by the welfare state...[/font][/font]
30 and I'm still on the dole... now 30 and I still ride on buses...[/font][/font]
30 years old and with no-fixed-abode...[/font][/font]
sleeping in my friend's basement [/font][/font]
in a squat off stoke newington road -[/font][/font]
shopping for presents for myself in the snow...[/font][/font]
hanging at bars and looking for love: [/font][/font]
never get none... searching in all the wrong places,[/font][/font]
dancing with all the wrong faces...[/font][/font]
cock hungry and ass wanting – [/font][/font]
thoughts always return to the sexual...[/font][/font]
30 and haven't even had that many lovers -[/font][/font]
the only things close to me our my tight clothes...[/font][/font]
worn in bed with me cos its so fucking cold - [/font][/font]

confused by my body: but still aroused -[/font][/font]
its hard work living... and I can't get a job...[/font][/font]
cigarettes alcohol drugs are therefore chucked down my gob -[/font][/font]
it'll be nearly dark soon and then I'll go out to play...[/font][/font]
I'm an eternal teenager... getting younger each day,[/font][/font]
less mature every minute -[/font][/font]
more free every second... [/font][/font]
no-fixed-abode... a roaming poet... [/font][/font]

i like that expression.I guess this is diff from ur previous one, in style,i like the flippant tone you have used here, yeah i know this feeling of being a teenager always, lol, are you speaking my mind?

this was written on suggestion from abra-ca-dabra that i just write without knowing what i would write about before hand... and so is of the spontaneous poem type of constructing... whereas the piece 'the promised land' was much more heavily doctored, edited and re-arranged until the form had found its best way to function...
so maybe i am speaking your mind... but i think when you write honest, open-barred truth without any self-censorship one is likely to write something that will run parallel to other's thoughts and feelings... we are after all, all the same species, made of the same matter...

...use both styles, Brendan - I hope it was liberating (and enjoyable) writing like that. I suspect your best work will come when you combine the two. This is an excitingly honest poem which I rate highly.

well i have written on a spontaneous tick before but as i said before, more along the lines of directed spontaneous effect with a fixed goal to aim at... as much stuff i've written is for particular performances with a particular theme...
I also use the cut-up-method quite intensively as well... check out the other poem i just put up to see the results of that process...
