the font distracted me from the over all feel i was hoping to get but i still love this .. you should post as normal maybe in italic but something so deep should always be legible if the reader cares to feel ....

The font, colors, and picture were all a distraction from the emotion I was attempting to create? Hmm, I thought maybe they'd enhance it. Thank you for giving me another angle to think from. I appreciate it.

Chad my friend, this grabbed hold of me, her image did at first and then the words did as I heard them echoe and replay in her head...visual poetry can be a difficult format but I personally feel you did a stellar job with it.

Visual poetry does seem to be a challenge. I usually don't find an image that I envision.
But, curiously, why do you find it to be a difficult format?

Sometimes they say a picture is worth a thousand words, which at times can be true, therefore i find if your picture is so powerful, it may not match your words; it fights with it instead and could clash with your own intent/depiction/what you “see”...your pic here shows a woman huddled, taking hold of head which to me immediately screams of echoing over and over, taking over her brainwaves/thoughts and to me it could easily be in regards to what your words say...therefore I thought it a perfect match... :)

Re. The dead can dream
I feel the image and words were perfectly matched
to the font and colors , Chad ;
The dark background on left , provided the counterpoint
and writing slate to the stark picture on the right , with
it's black and white balance on the right ;
Further her body position divides her image in half , due
to her knees and arms , and hands holding her head ;
That form is interestingly enough , the form of an upright
version of a rune , known as Dagaz , or Dea , dependent
on which rune system you are using , which upright , can
appear like an hourglass , and can mean , among many
meanings :
"Time / Timelessness , Polarization / Depolarization , and
Breakthrough"
Rather appropriate , in my opinion , to the subject matter and image itself...;)
Then , with her face and body lit more on one side due to
the lighting , that only enhances the sense of polarization ;
Now , what I find very strong as well , is then the usage of
of the white "ink" of the words , slanted to the right , which
draws my attention toward the photograph , just enough ,
to not have a disengagement between the two sides ;
The rust pumpkin color counterpoint of her words to the
white description of the event , is softly powerful ;
I think any brighter tone , or color would have thrown things off ;
There also is to take into consideration , her extreme trauma ,
and crying out in disbelief , and the idea in some traditions , and
color therapy , orange , especially rust orange is seen as a sign of
surrender , especially "divine surrender" ;
Think of monks with the orange and red robes , such as Tibetan , or
Rajneesh / Osho's disciples ;
I also got the impression of the "sound" of her voice , in the differing
usage of the caps and lower case letters , in the "I love you" !
As the totality of all these considerations , I must compliment your
choices , and give you a two thumbs up ! Let alone not just must , I want to !
...LOL...nicely done , Good Sir
