Patchwork Quilt

Sopranos gay laughter now sung in baritones of pain

Sparkling eyes of life now dimmed in shadowy shades of ruin

Wide beams of smile now stitched in jagged grays of sorrow

Root of me now opaque sprouts of we

An esoteric patchwork quilt

The many colors of we now shades the entirety of me
