Why the hate on prayers?

 
Folded hands, intertwined fingers  
my appeal to God I trust  
The love I send in all my thoughts  
is met with their disgust  
 
Now, I know for some, it may seem trite  
to ask for strength and healing  
Yet to me and mine, it just seems right  
these things we ask while kneeling  
 
At very least, the love on my heart  
is meant with the spirit of affection  
yet some say now, it is not enough  
and met with diverse objection  
 
With so much evil all around  
the last thing on our mind  
Is the enemy would like us not to pray  
and have our hearts stay blind  
 
I for one will not give up  
and will continue my appeal  
To Lord Christ Jesus please guide our steps  
and show the doubters your love is real!
