Shattering the Silence
The house is empty and silent
As the inside of me.
My restless eyes close
As I lay down and reflect on
What has happened recently.
I think to myself, has time
given up on me?
I scream, shattering the silence
Like breaking glass.
Can you feel it
On my mouth?
Can you taste the
Venom on my tongue
When I talk about you?
The further you dismiss my sorrow,
The more it gets amplified.
Loneliness drove my actions
And lead me to the wrong one.
Your light will
Fade in time,
Then I’ll think of you
And I’ll see nothing.

I'm with you on this on my dear poetess...this was well structured as an anger poem...I felt every word boil in my blood...

Your opener is beautiful. It grabs me and I thought, this is what I think of when I think of poetry. It established the feeling subtly but effectively. I also enjoyed your close. I like asking questions of my reader. It's engaging. Good work.

I also agree 100% with Marks, don't ever never allow another human to dismiss you, your thoughts or make light, because dismissal or ignoring another's tragedy makes light of a deeply private, emotional and extremely personal journey back to ones true self.
