In Natural Wonder

     
restless is the night
as she sheds the excitement of the day
children racing to capture magic
as they uncover hidden treasure

in the lush keep of the forest
while imps playfully frolic
dancing to the music of childhood laughter
caught in a moment

paganism and Christianity come together as one
the sunshine its self blesses them
it a source where all life flows freely
in innocence they remind me
within their primal hunger of the hunt

free spirited light shines from each face
without restrictions they revel
I see the Goddess emerge in nature
kissing their cheeks as in her bounty they wander
no storm or doubt to cloud their vision
religion a myth to these still endowed with true wisdom

they walked here as if through a portal
there mothers and fathers the doorways
into this dimension they wander

I pay close attention
I believe they carry a message
looking on in wonder
someday knowing
I will cross back into the beginning

the place I originated
and there gather all I've learned
then anew start my adventuring
