Arises subtly elusive
retrogressing discreetly resumed
artful in its deception
solace vindictively consumed
This indomitable obsession
re-offends quite abruptly
profoundly vested in death
spirits speak bluntly
London this time the catalyst
almost survived a year
but in illness and anxiety
libation in crippling fear
Isolation unlocked restraint
flesh unbearably cold
sickness in the chest and mind
invariably becoming old
Desperate critical attempts
to ascertain resumption
accident and emergency
my audacious presumption
Estranged seeking remission
anaesthetising trauma
ceasing reeling tapes
of existing cyclorama

Rising like the sun
"artful in its deception
solace vindictively consumed "- the art, the solace, vindictive; stellar line to capture that first stanza.
re-offending obsessions
"vested in death"- i could see Death being a 401k retirement savings plan lol
the anxiety
crippling fear
the 4th stanza feels like detox, withdraws; shaking from hot and cold sweats.
"to ascertain resumption"- trying to keep it all together,pulling ourselves through the day as best we can.
spinning in circles
seeking an end to this madness
quell these feelings
follies
put me under the needle once again...

I was sober almost a year. Then I was in London for work and became quite ill with a chest infection. I just needed to get through the training and reverted to my old solutions in the hopes of feeling better. Unfortunately, as I know, it doesn't work for me any more. Just that quickly, I ended up twice as ill, dependent again and in the hospital. Still fighting the infection but happy to say 11 days sober again. Thanks for getting it and taking such time and care in your response. Much love my friend.
