Weathering

The rain beats a rhythm on the roof
She doesn't seem to mind
He will arrive, dripping wet
And she'll remove his soaked-through threads

He shivers but she provides the heat
Each stroke raising the degrees
Her mouth bringing up his mercury
To the final burst, as thunder claps

They lie in sanctuary bliss
The rain reduced to a mist
They drift on clouds, in their dreams
Their weather never what it seems.

Author's Note
Wet weather in L.A. today. I'm not a meteorologist, but had to have my say.
