Light Of France

Fly away, you dove.
To the hands of heaven.
You, the chosen one.
Who fought for us all.

You wished to save the world.
To show us how to live.
But you were just a girl.
Who gave all that she could give.

Now they're burning you at the stake.
They don't believe your words.
Was it an angel or a mistake?
Or madness that you heard.

You were the light of France.
God's gift to all who believe.
We take up arms and advance.
As for your soul we grieve.

You were the holy one.
God's chosen maiden who fights.
Brighter than the sun.
Shining the holy light.

So many died for you.
They sacrificed and fell.
Now you are fallen too.
Is what the stories tell.

You were the light of France.
God's gift to all who believe.
We take up arms and advance.
As your soul drifts on the breeze.

Just look at the good you have done.
Even God is proud of you now.
And it's not over until we have learned.

Nearly lost but the battle is won.
Nothing left but to see your hometown.
Everyone waits for your return.

You were the light of France.
God's gift to all who believe.
We take up arms and advance.
We know you had to leave.

Say you'll remember us.
