Aquaphobia
My bellicose warrior
how you portray your silhouette
Is it cruel or lenient
Have you ever fought for me
Maybe I’m a mere traveler for ya
and an actual coward with aquaphobia
Love dipping my feet into your flowing
but never outgrow the fear of drowning
My beloved worrier
Take me away with your tides
it’s the easy way for me to say goodbye
Wipe my tears off with your ties
it’s the easy way for me to open my eyes
The restless waves show your worries
for I have never learned how to swim
Will you be singing for me while I am sinking
My endearing savior
I was just born that way
a high-strung human being
seeking your everlasting grace
dreaming living in your embrace
Let me taste how passionate
a rock star’s affection
rock me sleep in the baby-bassinet
If I could swim, I wouldn’t fear
For a moment
I wish I have been equipped with safety gear
but where are the life jackets
When the ferry is moored to the shore
a jaunty walk quickens my pace
a glory smile brightens my face
What a great relief!
At the moment
the misty air comes to life!
I am alive!
how you portray your silhouette

I am getting multiple messages here which makes it a great poem. I always have an extra life jacket if you need one 🙂

Dear romantic Tim, now I know you are pratical too. I need two life jackets, one for losing and one for a backup. Thank you so much for sharing your empathy.

RoseJasmine, This a wonderful piece...another born out of your ferry excursion. Your description of the water as a bellicose warrior is captivating. It is the source of so much beauty but must be respected for its occasional ferocity. This passage is thought provoking:
"Love dipping my feet into your flowing
but never outgrow the fear of drowning"
I think it can be applied to love as well. We sometimes just linger on the periphery of love instead of plunging headlong into it risking possibly getting hurt. Brava!

Dear Gahddess, thank you for the provoking thought. Your comment makes my work more meaningful. I think you are right, and you really see inside of me. Loving someone and being afraid of getting hurt is a golden rule for everyone, especially for me.

Dear Lawrence, I guess you never learned how to swim but you can swim. I spent a lot of time taking swimming classes but still can't swim. I need a super good coach I guess. Thank you so much for the nice feedback.

Great metaphorical, being social can be like an ocean.
How deep can a person swim in someone else?
Interesting to think about how deep I really want to go with other people.
It can be very scary, I know.
However I think we all have to do things that scare us just to make friends.

I agree with Tim, I also received layered messages in this piece, which is always engaging to contemplate. This was the crux of the piece to me.
"Love dipping my feet into your flowing
but never outgrow the fear of drowning"
I also really loved these lines,
"Take me away with your tides
it’s the easy way for me to say goodbye"
It's a touching poem. Well done.

Dear Daniel, this is a sentimental comment. I can feel your soft heart and beautiful mind. I love those lines too. I guess it's the love-hate complex which made this poem more sophisticated. Thank you so much for the always support.

this is so absolutely beautiful . here are some of my favorite parts
"My endearing savior
I was just born that way
a high-strung human being
seeking your everlasting grace "
this is just flawless, i feel this could be said for so much in walks of life, to a person, to the eternal, to the water you speak of
"My beloved worrier
Take me away with your tides
it’s the easy way for me to say goodbye "
yes yes yes, another cosmic beautiful line
"My bellicose warrior
how you portray your silhouette
Is it cruel or lenient "
i love the rhyme here, so well thought through
"Love dipping my feet into your flowing
but never outgrow the fear of drowning "
this poem is a beautiful dance
like many of your writes i always feel it could be about a lover
but maybe that is how you see the world around you
you love and ache for it
and feel it fully
thank you for sharing
this is definitely one of my favorites
with much love

the silhouette portrayed
a traveler on tired seas
restless waves singing as you're sinking
tasting passion sweet as strawberries
"a rock star’s affection
rock me sleep in the baby-bassinet " - great play on words
making it another day on and off the water.
well penned RoseJasmine, great write

Oh RJ, I can relate to the fear well.
I nearly drowned in the river at the age of 10 while fishing...thank god somehow I made it, but yeah, I'm still wanting lessons myself, maybe we could go together on a buddy system lol ...
Btw...All the rest of this ink is as beautiful as the sparkle of water on the bright, sunny day... :)
