Onward To Hell

When the night wind is blowing.
It's howling before the dawn.
In the distance, glowing.
I can see the early sun.

Through the frost on the frozen panes.
Those old windows are cracked.
I try so hard to forget your name.
Cause I know your not coming back.

And as I reach for you.
Nothing I do.
Will ever bring you home.

So I face the sky.
I whisper goodbye.
It's time to let you go.

Onward to hell my lovely wayward child.
You marched into battle looking for God.
And you took with you your smile.

Onward to hell my unforgotten one.
You may have saved us but now you are gone.
Somewhere beyond the veil.

With your sword and shield, onward to hell.
And never look back.

On the day that they caught you.
I couldn't bear to hear the news.
I sent your brothers to bring you home.
But there was nothing they could do.

So we stand in remembrance.
For my long lost loving girl.
I pray you went to heaven.
When they all say you're in hell.

And as I pray for you.
Nothing I do.
Will ever bring me light.

Heaven or hell.
I wish you well.
I will honor your fight.

So fly away from the heartbroken day.
Your mother grieves for you along her way.
There is no shame, and God knows your heart, so kneel and pray.
One last light in this dark world thrown to the fray.
