The house always wins

Starting life and dealt 3's and 4's,
The game's not fair but no one knows the cards they've been drawn.
Optimism and a strong work ethic make you seem to think that you have control of your fate, yet it's a one sided game and it will always be the same.
Those friends with pocket aces that know the right people in the right places, and laugh in the face of you trying to make your luck last.
It's unfortunate you belong to a lower class where the odds are stacked against you, there's actually very little that you can do, intelligence and drive make little difference, your ambition and thought are of no relevance.
Living life betting hesitantly, it's so much harder when your staking all your wealth reluctantly.
Knowing it's so unfair and still playing, getting nothing from the house but you keep on paying in.
Credit on credit with no merit, debt spiralling out of control and no let up. Big business with our serious obsession of living a life with constant depression, apply to the masses, it's their form of oppression.
Mind, body and soul, control, splitting us up,we'll never think that we are whole.
Who knows where we should begin, how have we not yet learned that the house always wins.
