Ascent

up the hill
then up the mountain
in the rain
the sky a fountain

clouds above
and clouds below
then at the top
it is as though

the sky is torn
it's ripped asunder
beams of light
inspiring wonder

illuminating
what did seem
a drab and dreary
winter dream -

lifting off
and floating higher
into the light
just one desire

to leave the Earth
and disappear
to wake again
beyond the fear

another world
another sun
where all is love
and all are one

you know too
the place to be
it's inside you
and inside me
