Down The Yellow Brick Road
I took a walk down the yellow brick road
Someone told me it was paved with gold
I didn’t see a sunflower or a daffodil
The edges flecked in the dust of the windowsill
Fairy tales come to life
Shh… don’t you know it’s all a lie
“Ding, dong, the witch is dead”
I think this path is painted in lead
There’s a man of straw without a brain
Somehow I think he is the most sane
There’s a man of tin looking for a heart
Silly man, someone will tear it apart
There’s a cowardly lion with a mighty roar
Shaking so badly I’m not scared anymore
Until the monkeys decide to take flight
Painted in colours of the night
I took a walk down the yellow brick road
Someone told me it was paved with gold
I didn’t see a sunflower or a daffodil
The edges flecked in the dust of the windowsill
A green witch of nightmares has an agenda
But I think she’s really just a pretender
Light her up and watch her burn
Melting into wax, she never did learn
“We’re off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of…”
He's just another grumpy old man, with no love
My friend wants a brain that’ll drive him insane
My friend wants a heart which I don’t think is smart
And then there’s lion, looking to be brave
Dose him up with e and send him to a rave
Me, I don’t think I want to go home
I’m liking it here in the crazy zone
I took a walk down the yellow brick road
Someone told me it was paved with gold
I didn’t see a sunflower or a daffodil
The edges flecked in the dust of the windowsill
A world where everyone will do as they please
Wait…why is there a little dog following me?
