Cat Ass Trophy

She may curl up on your lap
Like a dog to have a nap

She may lounge on the piano lid
Or on the keys like Mozart did

She may stretch out on the window ledge
Or in the garden, sleeping under the hedge

Or on the lawn or in the tree top
Sitting on the fence is a place to stop

Lounges for a short time on a hot tin roof
she'll walk with a swagger; oh so aloof

she will catch the occasional mouse
and drag its dead carcase into the house

she simply won't be told what to do
sometimes crazy, sometimes blue

she's not like a dog stupid and crass
she is independent, full of sass

she never plays fetch the ball or stick
no matter the throw, no matter the kick

she likes to be stroked, it makes her purr
with her scratchy tongue she cleans her fur

she's tiger and with claws and teeth she strikes
She will sleep anywhere she bloody well likes
