Hind Sight
I wake from a colorful dream.
The sun is warm on my skin through our window.
It must be a beautiful day.
I feel my way to the kitchen
and fumble to find two cups.
I make a small mess preparing our coffee.
It smells amazing baby.
I wait for you at the table until I remember.
Today I must wear black.
A black suit for you, my love.
A suit that this sightless man cannot find without you.
After a lifetime without my eyes,
I have finally gone blind.

It was a powerful image in my head. It breaks my heart that I didn't paint it clearly enough. I wanted you to feel what I felt. I cried for some time over this.

I have no doubt. All the best poets have been hurt, and you're an excellent poet.

Oh, wow... what a vivid and powerful poem. Your imagery really painted a picture. It's truly gripping, and it breaks my heart. Your heartfelt sentiments in this one were felt in my heart... Well done!

Well thank you much. Watch the “Lover of the light” video by Mumford And Sons. It inspired this. I cried while writing this.
