Skimming the surface
Look how beautuful and still
The surface is
You can see your reflection
A mirror false
Once touched sends countless
Ripples
A finger tip penetrating
Is all it took for him
To look up at her in dismay,
How could she do such a thing?
Disrupt the perfect image
And with a smile no less
A test of resilience
To see how far she could
Make the ripples run,
She wondered how long
It would take for him to go
Once things went a little deeper
A finger tip is all it took,
All that depth still waiting to be
Discovered, and suddenly he had
No interest,
She felt a sudden lightness
At his departure,
Knowing how few men
Have ever dared to swim
In her deep waters
It was time for him to go,
And she let him
