What He Is

He has the gentle heart of a teddy bear,
He has hands of stone when needed,
He will always stand between them and the world,
Yet give them the whole world with glories unfaded.

He guides them by principles handed down for generations,
He is willing to stand by them to the end,
Family, God and country they are,
He has a will that will not bend.

Kindness and generosity are parts of him,
He would give his last dollar to a stranger,
Watchful and wary even then,
He will not take them into danger.

They are everything for and to him,
All they give him makes him glad,
He is everything for and to them,
