Rain

For there is a sound
an abundance of rain  
reflecting our hearts...
this abundance of pain.
  
We carry the burden 
heavy and laden 
in time with our heartbeats
slow in their cadence.
 
We are called to choose right  
reach heights up above 
overcome numbness 
choose to show love.
 
Can we break through  
the harmony thunder 
flow love in between 
make melody wonder?
 
Is this the end 
or is this a pause  
before war resumes?
We must not withdraw!
 
We need to choose right
reach heights up above 
overcome numbness 
choose action in love!
 
Love can direct  
a climbing crescendo 
authentic, direct 
not pure innuendo.
 
Pain chooses fear 
increases denial  
of inhuman force 
violence in spiral!
 
We need to choose right
reach heights up above 
overcome numbness 
choose truth in love!
 
In the sound of a storm 
in the rhythm of rain 
we find secrets of growing  
compassion from pain.
 
Lightening reveals
what darkness has stained
where grace and where goodness
overcome unrestrained.
 
In life there is joy  
In heights up above 
when we overcome numbness 
there’s powerful love!
