Hold On
the heart ache that comes
from hope deferred
is a heart ache of longing
a need to be heard
a need to be seen
when everything’s blurred
to be understood
a spirit that’s stirred
a heart ache that flutters
like wings of a bird
anxious and waiting
for just the right word
a longing fulfilled
is a tree of life
as when darkness is scattered
by rays of light
when vague shapes in the distance
become clear in my sight
when what once was buried
bursts through to great heights ...

Love Remains
I wonder if tomorrow He will love me
I wonder if love’s wandered far away
I wonder if this life is better less me
I wonder if a distance I should stay
I remain here
yet I gaze at many scenes,
of places dark and light
and in between.
My emotions travel
as they often do,
through many shades of fear,
yet love pursues.
I open up
the cage of hidden sorrow.
I release abundant tears
and mourn with pain.
Though when streams of anguish
dwindle to a trickle, ...
I wonder if love’s wandered far away
I wonder if this life is better less me
I wonder if a distance I should stay
I remain here

The prayer of inner quiet
brings His presence to my soul.
He whispers to my heart...
Selah-
Pause and reflect
Pause and connect
Look at what I’ve shown to you
Listen to My words
Lift your heart
Consider this
in your thoughts I can be heard
Connect the paths of truth
Find My sanctuary
Rest within My presence
Find peace extraordinary
I’m there within your struggle
I’m there within your joy
Be alone here with Me
in My quiet
just enjoy
Retreat into this prayer ...

Eye of The Storm
In one moment she lost
her life,
yet she remains here
alive.
In one moment her heart
was shattered,
yet she holds onto
love.
In one moment her dreams
became drowned,
yet she voices
her hope.
In one moment her prayers
seem unanswered,
yet she looks up
in faith.
In one moment she crumbles
in grief,
yet she’ll one day walk again
strong.
In one moment she remembers
the joy,
in the lives of the ones
she so loved.
In one moment she honors
each one,
whom she lost ...
her life,
yet she remains here

True Story
Once upon a time
once upon a rhyme
a life of tangled dreams
kept the truth
in circumscription.
A maiden walked along
with a notebook close beside her
looking for the truth
when she came upon a Writer.
He invited her to look
upon His written storybook
and her heart began to love
as she read His words in ink
which her heart could understand
but her mind would overthink.
He gazed at her with joy
and she wondered how He’d chosen
to look beyond her failures
and to shape her with His poems.

A Distance
There are days,
I feel the distance between us
a distance in time
a distance of place
a distance of space
I sense him there behind a door
closed to me
a mind divide
a cover of his life inside
I try and look between the lines
to hear his pain
to feel he’s weary
to comprehend the theory
However, only a hypothesis I find
a wonder
a guess
a game of chess
Lost am I, who knows not the game
who is confined
to my dark square
hovering there
Our conversation once had journeyed...

Not everything is spoken
Not everything is seen
Not everything is offered
Some things must be gleaned
Hidden in the silence
Hidden in the gray
Hidden in the struggle
Are things we push away
Fears are better spoken
Gray will fade with light
Struggle comes undone
When truth dissolves the fight
Transparency has value
Offering unveils
The heart that needs assurance
Of love that never fails
He will not abandon
He will free a heart

A Heart Remembered
Hope...
it’s in being remembered.
Sorrow...
it’s in being forgotten.
A heart remembered is a joyful heart -
content and full,
serene.
A heart forgotten is a tearful heart -
melancholic,
unseen.
An honored love is well esteemed -
a treasure, favored,
adored.
Disregard is trampling -
a heart, a love
ignored.
Forgive,
yet build a boundary -
shield a heart exposed.
Remember
a heart’s fragility -
protect, safeguard, compose.
Nurture a heart ...
