Fragile Heart
this ache inside my body
runs through my feet up to my head
you are my greatest obsession
the only thought in mind
so much so that it makes me sick
emotions running amok
filling me with regret
regret for these words
no matter the trouble
your smile brings me to flight
I’m engulfed with flames of desire
burning yet cooling at the same time
has me thinking of ways to show you I care
knowing there’s no turning back
the outcome could leave me with scars
or a small chance at bliss
not like I haven’t been hurt before
maybe that’s why the feeling scares me
I want to know forever, together
nothing else
don’t want to live in a world without you
stay the night with me
one night, I’ll make you feel special
two nights, you’ll never want to leave
this I promise
but imagining is different than
holding, kissing, and making love
so please help cure my fragile heart

Imagination and reality are often so far apart as to be alien to each other. And yet...without imagination where would we be? Such a deeply longing poem. So beautiful :-)
