The Five barred gate ( from the' Hut' )

Cold so cold, cold as in our youth
lanes known so well without city walls,
where horses ran on summer-days
Gymcrack Stakes Rolls, Austin seven
 Wolsey and eternal Rover.
Here cold, cold as  yesteryear.
Ghosts, they have what we had
time, space, passion.
I watch, but should not,  step into this space
 call near once a week.
Fifty years divide us, yet we are one.
Unashamed  watch, join in their desire,
another world. We loved as they,.
Not a cosy  place, corrugated as it is,
lovers make of what they can.
We leaned a five barred gate,
 loved beneath the moon,
,comfort  where you find it.
There are ghosts loving here awhile ago,
“We shared a war   ...   ...   loved as you,
unprepared,  joined in your delight .
I shall not intrude;forget I ever called.
