A Fishy Tale

and clever piece. The final verse here does actually fit with what's gone before, and provides the perfect, crushing twist to the tale. I have to admit, when I first started reading this I rolled my eyes and thought: "Good grief, please tell me this wonderful poet isn't another God botherer," but that knee-jerk reaction was shattered beautifully at the end.

Actually the inspiration for this ditty was none other than a Mr J Heslop who queried (rightly so) the last lines of Teddy Bear (aide memoir) the other day!

Well, it's wonderful to know that I've inspired such a lovely poem. A couple of other people have said that about me before. I feel almost like a "muse" lol

I missed the point?  Where did we go...what did we see.....what was planet shattering???
I want to understand.

is it that in the creation of mankind the piece implies that this mistake is the cause of the planets demise, God has allowed this in the very creation and forbearance of our continuance?

Any poem can only be according to personal interpretation - & there isn't a right or a wrong way up for grabs.  
It's up to you what you take from it.
During the writing, I think I had a succession of natural disasters in mind and my instinct told me that if I was an all powerful creator diety with stupendous powers, I simply would not be able to allow that scale of human suffering to occur whilst I did nothing to prevent it.
