I love how perfectly the image compliments the words. There is an intense feeling of sitting in the dark with a single candle burning, exposed utterly to emotion and nothing to cloak but the darkness. Beautiful aching piece, Sweet one, beatuiful

Thank you :) That was exactly the feeling I was alluding to. It was one of those random nights, and I felt everything, as well as nothing - the nothing being the darkness around me, as well as that hanging around in the shadows within.
I appreciate your thoughts sooooo much xoxo

I missed the connection to the title upon my first read, but the explanations helped me appreciate the extra layers on top of the already solid poem. Thanks

Words made me think of a lonesome woman yearning for a lover's presence, seeking hope through the sight of the solitary candle.

Spot on. He was absent during that time, and wine spilled those words... Thank you for your comment x

Haha, true. I think I need my heart broken or loved to spill this way again.

I love the dry reds too. My contemplations of love’s falling short of my dreams and my ardent desire for reconciliation usually happen by the burning red glow of the minutes ticking by. It makes for a night that stretches to eternity. I guess I should indulge more in the wine so that hope can spring eternal.
Thank you for the write.
