The Night and Gale
Gale sings "Black Velvet" every night
The crowd silent and sipping slow
They remain until the closing note
And one gent rises, his hand proffered
He leads Gale to the woods
Lets night black agents hear her song
And know that Gale is one of theirs
Beneath the luster of the stars
Gale sings "Black Velvet" every night
The trees stirring overhead
The nightingales lend an ear
Tell her that there's naught to fear.
