In the Dark I Dream

I awake from a terrible dream
It's 1am and I so need you near
Lying in my bed missing your arms, wanting to scream
Will these delusions ever end, keeping me in fear?
I miss your smiles and your laughter it would seem
Your sweet words and how you like me close,  oh dear!
The tears continue to fall, my sobs caused by my dream
Blood...Voices...Running...Sounds that I can still hear
Where are you, baby? Home in bed asleep I would deem
Looking around in the dark, I wish you would appear
I finally got ahold of my darling, warm and safe are you
Your voice is sexy and oh, so sweet
I woke you up, crying out of the blue
My horrific dream I can still feel all the way to my feet
Your voice is oh so welcomed,  if you only knew!
Even in slumber, my dream I can repeat
Warm and safe are you.
