mama you say that there is light

though you never told me no lie
mama how can it be?
mama how can it be?
then why can't i see?
you say dad'll come home soon
mama when will he?
mama when will he?
you said dad'll come home soon
mama when will he?
mama when will he?
it's been too long we played
mama daddy and me
mama daddy and me
it's been too long we played
mama daddy and me
mama this night's been too long
when will it end?

mama you been singin' too long
mama when he sings?

if i sleep i'll miss him arrive
i don't wanna miss

mama you did that to me again
you made me sleep

mama how can i miss him again
another night with him
when he was home with me
you say he came home when i was asleep
you didn't break my sleep
you didn't break my sleep
and he left before i could see
and you let him be?
and you let him be?

Author's Note:
Story of a Mother, whom her son always believes never tells no lie. Son who waits for his dad each day, mother knows he's never gonna be back (as he's gone on a journey from which he'll probably never return- war, seafaring in the old days etc.). She sings to him each night till he falls asleep waaiting for his dad. Each morning she tells him he did came home when he was asleep and left before he could wake up, she didn't wake him up because she loves him so much, obviously wouldn't disturb his sleep.
