You Can't Fine-Tune the Details of the Past

You know that thing you do where
I forget
My regrets
And it's just a never-ending love?
Do it again.

I crave the reminisce of
What used to be.
But it's just gone and I try
So hard
To hold onto what’s left.

Bring to me my memories of awe
Love
Lust
And theft,
Because I was taken away,
Swift as the memories.

Leave your embrace
Upon my countenance.
Pierce me with those forest eyes.
Fine-Tune the details of my past.
Make me remember
Why I started loving you
In the first place.

Don't go.
I can't see me without you.
