"Undressing" Bible Prophecy
The Bible = the Wisdom of God.
The Book of Proverbs speaks of Wisdom as though it is a Woman(Proverbs 8.1).
So we can think of studying the Bible as like being with a woman.
A woman doesn't reveal her body to just anyone.
Only the man in a covenant relationship of marriage gets full access to her hidden depths.
Likewise, with the Bible, she doesn't open up for just anybody. You have to court the Bible, then marry her, so to speak.
You have to unite with(in) the scriptures, to experience the quiver, the spiritual spasm, of discovery; the orgasm of holy awe.
With this Bible-as-woman idea as our foundation, the surface meaning of Bible passages can be discounted as mere clothing, whose purpose is to veil, cover up, withhold info.
We have to "undress" the Bible by going for the meaning behind the "clothing."
For example, "the Millennium" passage (Revelation 20) speaks of "the Dragon," as "the devil" (Rev 20.2).
But this "Dragon" has "7 heads, 10 horns"(Rev 12.3), which identifies it as the Roman empire.(I'll explain later.)
On that basis we can discount the superficial identity of "the Dragon" as "the devil."
We are to see it as the Roman empire.
In the first century, that empire was basically synonymous to the known world.
(Western Europe - Middle East - North Africa.)
So when Christ says,"Now is the judgment of this world,
Now shall the prince of this world be driven out,"(John 12.31),
this is equivalent to saying,
"Now is the judgment/fall of the Roman empire."
Christ made His startling statement early in the same week that He was crucified - in AD 30.
What is my point??
The Dragon is "cast into the abyss" of nonexistence at the start of the Millennium(Revelation 20.1-3).
Now, we can interpret that to mean the Roman empire was judged by God at the very start of the Church Age.
Via the Cross of Christ in AD 30.
I'm building a case for the Millennium (Rev 20) being a veiled reference for the Church Age !!
We read that "the First Resurrection" is to occur at the start of the Millennium (Rev 20.4-6).
Now, if the Millennium = the Church Age or M=CA,
we have to be able to show that "the First Resurrection" took place at the start of the Church Age !!!
How can we do that??
Christ's own Resurrection was when?
At the start of the Church Age, of course.
And we are "in Christ," even in His death and Resurrection - thru baptism and the Eucharist and thru conversion.
LSS: the First Resurrection DID take place at the start of the Church Age !!!
So M=CA really is true.
More later.
