A poet?

A crazy man, that’s who’s a poet
He writes down his dreams
Until all of the seams
Jump! Right out of his skull

We all know that he’s but a misfit
Who opens his heart
So his feelings impart
Upon those that he hopes feel the same

For what purpose?
What purpose?
Why does he put on this circus?
And acts like a clown
With a taciturn frown
Drowning in an ocean of sentiment

Attention?
For attention?
Why no, it’s to craft an invention
One that ascends
One that transcends
The limits of time and space!

Eternity!
Eternity!
Yes, I can say it with certainty
With the words from his pen
He’ll outlive all the men
Who jeer him and call him insane

You say I’m crazy?!
Yes, I’m crazy!
But my mind, it’s not a bit hazy
It’s clearer than clear
As sharp as a spear
And set on the path that I lead

A message!
A message!
For you I have fashioned a message
May it reach you intact
Your spirit may it attract
And towards your senses I hope its aim’s true

Passion!
Your passion!
Never be deprived of your passion!
Though some may deride
Simply on your wings glide
And your river of thoughts? Let it flow!

Your ink-filled weapon I’ll put on set
