From Nothing

From Nothing sprang the light and shade.

Before Time and Place were,
time and Place were not.
From the Emptiness in Nothing,
something thereupon begot.

Must it all have proceeded something?
Perhaps, but more importantly,
what?

Something, the basic aspect of all,
detached from thee, the true original
Into thy unlimited self must insignificant fall.

Yet Something of indomitable power command,
and from abundant emptiness's hand,
begot fire, air, bird, beast, and man.

With form and matter, place and time did join;
Body, thy foe, through which did leagues combine
To spoil such a peaceful realm, and then to atrophy.

Forbade from routine eyes are the mysteries.
The divine alone, with authority, inquires.
Ensnared in private where only truth has liberties,
Eventually, that truth, like time will be memories.

Another stamp on the essence of existence.

Yet of this the wise may freely say,
That from the incorruptible nothing take away,
And, to be part with thee, the contemptible wisely pray.
So colorless, how vainly of the wise,
Define, inquire, distinguish, devise.

While excessive something discreetly abstains.
From the coffers of greed and from a fools' brains,
and nothing there, like stately nothing, reigns.

Is, or is not, the extensive ends of fate,
Something, Nothing, is one in the same.
From both which sprang from the vast designs of fate;

The great Nothing and Something in age will suspend,
Existence of Matter, and of time may bend,
How swiftly into thee, and in thee ever end.
