Yesterday
Yesterday,
I felt the flesh coloured wind fly past me,
But it wasn’t the wind,
It was a fist,
And that fist hit the wall,
And the wall cracked,
It crumbled into dust that, surrounded my lungs,
Lungs that began collapsing,
My mouth tried to speak, but my hearts beat couldn’t keep up,
Then there was nothing,
He said,
“I’m sorry”
All had been forgiven.
Today,
I hear the loud crackle of thunder surrounding me,
But it wasn’t thunder,
It was a fist,
And this time it wasn’t the wall,
it was my face,
That did shatter into a purple hue,
Surrounding my cheek.
He says,
“I give you my word”
You have been forgiven.
Tomorrow,
I will hear the rain hit the earth,
But it won’t be rain
It will be tears
And the tears will wash upon my casket,
Lowered into the ground,
Peace will finally hold onto me,
He will say,
“Please forgive me”
As he will already be forgiven.
