A kiss is stolen by those caught off guard
Rolling grey grocery carts
into creeks
swamps
onyx green
i'm not here for the religion
i'm 100% non denominational
i just like listening to stories
these crazy people wrote
thousands of years ago
quell this riot in my rib cage
release me just before finish line
these Gladioli flowers
smell like funerals anymore
i'll take you like you're spine surgery
careful
with a chance of death
or paralysis
moist sweat
in the fingertips of my gloves
stinging
in my thighs
all theses people
mad
sitting in traffic jams
in a hurry to pay
blinking dollar signs
driving wrong
down one way streets
declaring Love
to Women
who wear me like a
skin suit jacket
wake me in the eye of the storm
throw me away
certain kinds of trash
lay me down to make Love instead
wake
in the early morning hours
write furiously my heart to you
from a second story veranda
until
hell freezes over
fists are for those with
wings
war birds if you will
crashing behind enemy lines
on Christmas
looming over death
like lollipops
licking fresh wounds
tell me
does it taste as sweet as you thought it would
the blood in my mouth
is just as real
as our barren future
i dropped of the face of the earth
for five months or more
like a feral cat
running from the road
lets face the facts
our freedom
ain't worth fighting for
cut the kite string
free fall
into the arms of another
this life is hard to take in stride
sometimes i'd rather smother
the laminated spoke cards are fine
but i'm bending at the rim
a kiss is stolen by those caught off guard
into creeks
swamps
