Different Worlds
They think you're crazy.
They call you lazy.
Judgements placed,
Though never to your face.
Fake smiles from crocodiles.
Apathetic to their denial.
But now it's clear to me,
How this all came to be.
From a place void of empathy.
Where forgiveness is your apology
And love is shown monetarily.
Keep your notions pre-conceived.
Choke on the words you speak of me.
I'll revel in this irony,
Existing hypothetically.
Here's the truth you cannot see...
If affection became currency
And emotions were our charity,
I'd be richer than you
And you'd be as poor as me.
They call you lazy.
Judgements placed,
Though never to your face.
Fake smiles from crocodiles.
Apathetic to their denial.
But now it's clear to me,
How this all came to be.
From a place void of empathy.
Where forgiveness is your apology
And love is shown monetarily.
Keep your notions pre-conceived.
Choke on the words you speak of me.
I'll revel in this irony,
Existing hypothetically.
Here's the truth you cannot see...
If affection became currency
And emotions were our charity,
I'd be richer than you
And you'd be as poor as me.
