MIDNIGHT MONARCH (Haiku)
Born in pure mourning
a meager caterpillar
crawling up the tree
Bare in naked day
Hungry birds sing songs to me
wish to consume me
Vulnerable me
while inching up the tree
towards destiny
Nestled high at noon
I hide my old self away
A king in cocoon
Prepared soon to be
transformed into my true form
midnight monarch born

i APPRECIATE THE COMMENTS. I wrote this for Miss_sub and her competition AS NATURE INTENDED. It was to write a poem about a nature photograph that the poet captured. I submitted and failed. I congratulate the first and second place winners, nicely done. No third place for anyone, especially for a worm like me. I appreciate the opportunity
