Haikus of Loss 7.0
(i) Pieces
the devastation
done, as she just disappears
heart now in pieces
(ii) Numb
puffed red bloodshot eyes
how many tears must be shed
until I am numb
(iii) Shadows
Just fight the feeling
but how do you fight a loss
I'm shadow boxing
(iv) Time
time is a healer
my clock on the wall just stopped
time is a poor liar
(v) Just Lies
promises were made
eternal togetherness
promises broken
(vi) Last Cigarette
depression grips me
as I face the firing squad
blindfolded to not see
(vii) Goodbye
it is a sickness
melancholic malady
now you're not here

David, you brought tears to my eyes with this painful write. When you share pain it's felt to the depths of the soul. Sending you so many hugs

Sad to say, writing about pain is a result of feeling that pain :-( Hugging you right back :-)

shadow boxing sums it up very well. You can't fight the wind... that which is not solid, yet feels like bricks in the brain and slivers in the heart as each beat cuts another wound. Well said David!

David...my eyes are brimful, to spilling over, with these.
And those emotions we associate with unbearable loss--the intolerable pain... the intense sorrow....the wistful longing--- they are soo keenly felt within each separate piece. Yet,from the first, until the final one, these feelings flow freely--one into another...combining to create that overwhelming sense of hopelessness, and helplessness, that are felt whenever we experience such bereavement..
My Friend, this is such a direct and effective method of letting others know that, during difficult times of loss, they are not alone in their suffering. Thank you for these! Soooo many caring...comforting hugs are coming your way (((<3)))

Vulnerability and pain are palpable in this, David. It made my heart ache and my stomach knot in remembering how such loss, or discovery of betrayal, can affect our physical outlook.
You're one of the strongest people I know, David. Your strength and resolve to carry on are admirable and an example to us all.

David...this ink brought me to tears...for so many reasons, some of which you know and understand. I will be holding onto this one if you don’t mind...super tight.
