Why (Let Her Go)
You took a picture of me that day
The day you said goodbye and went away
Sometimes I get lost in my thoughts on this hill
I sit here and wonder if you have that picture still
I look back on time and I think of you
I have only one regret and if I only knew
That I would miss you each and every day
I wouldn’t have let you walk so far away
In a field of wild flowers
I spin round and round
Until I get drunk and hit the ground
I watch butterflies against a deep blue sky
I scream in the middle of this daydream
I ask myself why
Why did I let her go
I hear she’s doing well, a husband and kids
But it’s hurts just knowing I had first dibs
I hope her ol’man finds her touch as magical as it was to me
I don’t think I’ll ever set her memories free...
In a field of wild flowers
I spin round and round
Until I get drunk and hit the ground
I watch butterflies against a deep blue sky
I scream in the middle of this daydream
I ask myself why
Why did I let her go
I remember yesterday, times we had moved so fast!
But I had to let her go... now that time has passed...
Why did I let her go?
