Insomnia
Insomnia
Sitting
Tapping
Reading
Writing
As the minutes tick by
I'm waiting
For what?
For that quiet time
Between living and
Dreaming
The moment you feel
Your heart beat slow
And your mind begins to drift
To that place between
Sleep and awake
When your soul slips
Quietly
From your body
And joins the
Millions of other
Dreamers
Where you can be anything
And with anyone
Drifting silently
Amongst the stars
From where we were
First born
Dancing on the tails
Of comets as they
Soar
Aimlessly through
The universe
Free and powerful
Holding the hands of
the one you love
As they softly
Kiss your parted lips
Tongues
Caressing tip to tip
As the smell of summer rain
Fills the air
And drowns
You in its purity
Landing softly on
Clouds held
Together
By the wisps of sunlight
But yet I sit staring at
the glare on a screen
Watching seconds
Tick by as I long
To be
In that place
Turning off the light's
And waiting
In the darkness
Listening to
the world hold its breath
As I count sheep
Jumping across meadows
Until it's my time
To be just awake
And barely asleep
Ready to walk
On the moon
Sitting
Tapping
Reading
Writing
As the minutes tick by
I'm waiting
For what?

Between living and

And your mind begins to drift
To that place between
