a nostalgic note from the future
some lament
how glorious the past
acknowledging good times
too don't last
blissfully unaware
perhaps blinded
by the glare
that greatness lay
right there
give it three years
those right here
when they will be back
sight then, they won't lack
they'd then see
what's not seen now
obvious talents
they missed somehow
whist you can
in the now
do not delay
take a bow
poets of D.U
old, current and new
time
you realized it well too
in the future
you'll be missed
hope you come back
it will be wished

sir Fuse
I`ve been here
for 5 1/2 years;
places like these
are like 2nd homes to some, if not,
most DU vets & alike;
the only way we`d falter
is if this place
was to close down ...
Until then, no worries
& I extend a great nod
to your tribute ...

hope
that day
never arrives.
true, 2nd home to many.
tribute, yes
for the abundant talent here
and for whatever reasons
not all is acknowledged and recognized in time.
in the long run, none of us will be here
as time simply makes us drift.

dearest Cold One
your poem rings true
we get so caught up
that we fail to see the talent
right in front of us
whether lifers or brand new poets
beautifully said..

A fine tribute to all past and present poets/poetesses here on DU.
A call out to us all to stop and give recognition where due to the ones currently here and to those who may stop by to spill a few lines before moving on.
A place of comfort is always looked forward to on one's travels

and that is true
and to each their own
as they say,
yet a community of artists
(recognized or not) is i believe more
inclined to recognition, appreciation and acknowledgement
of talent when it's obvious.
welcome the review
and the visit by the admired poet.

a matter of joy
when a piece
resonates with a Friend.
true,
perhaps human nature
to realize true value
after it's gone.
