God's Adoptive Hands
Blossomed on earth,
To bloom in heaven.
You'll live on in my heart,
And in God's hands forever.
He's taking care of you now,
A better parent than I.
But I'm left here wondering
Why, why, why?
I wish I could have held you in my arms,
I wish I could have heard your voice.
I wish I could have seen you laugh,
But instead I made a bad choice.
I never saw you smile,
But it lights up my life.
You'd look just like your daddy,
And I could call you mine.
I could have seen you grow,
But instead I felt you die.
Now I'm an empty shell,
That an angel died inside.
You should have taken your first breaths,
You should be alive.
But God wants you now,
So I buried you outside.
To bloom in heaven.
You'll live on in my heart,
And in God's hands forever.
He's taking care of you now,
A better parent than I.
But I'm left here wondering
Why, why, why?
I wish I could have held you in my arms,
I wish I could have heard your voice.
I wish I could have seen you laugh,
But instead I made a bad choice.
I never saw you smile,
But it lights up my life.
You'd look just like your daddy,
And I could call you mine.
I could have seen you grow,
But instead I felt you die.
Now I'm an empty shell,
That an angel died inside.
You should have taken your first breaths,
You should be alive.
But God wants you now,
So I buried you outside.
